Eye-Opening Ceremony

with Rev. Aigo Castro

There is a very special statue in our house: Kannon with the 1000 hands. She embodies everything that our center stands for. We discovered this statue “by chance” a long time ago during a walk with our Spanish Dharma friend Aigo Castro. Now that it has found a place, Aigo will “open its eyes” as part of an ancient Soto Zen tradition. We would like to invite you all to this very special celebration.

Aigo Seiga Castro, successor of Tsugen Narazaki Roshi, founded Budadharma Zen Soto (TBZS) tradition and received Dharma transmission in 2005, thus becoming the first Spanish teacher of this tradition. Since 2018, he has been officially recognized as minister and can perform ceremonies such as weddings and funerals with civil validity. He teaches at both universities and Dharma centers.
